Dress Revamp

When I went to South Padre to see the fam, I know I would need some swimuit coverups and things that would qualify as clothing at the same time. My parents run a jet ski business on the water, so when we were there with them, your constantly on the water and either at the dock or at the beach. Since you have to run around at times throughout town, I kind of wanted something past the shorts and shirt thing.

While purusing Old Navy one day, I spotted a great sundress, but in a size XL. For a few bucks I sat there thinking "I think I can do something with this"...and if not, well I was only out a few bucks. I forgot to take a before picture, but let me tell you, it was a big moo moo looking thing with two big ruffles, one on the top and one on the bottom. Since I'm a little on the shorter side, the below the knee length never works for me.

So...after a few cuts, some stiches and repins here and there...this is what I came up with. Since I had extra fabric, I made my daughter a mathching skirt with a matching headband...which turned out to be uber cute! Please excuse the messy room and lack of makeup or hairdo....it was my day off after all!

  1. That is so practical and cute! Def something I would want to wear. I noticed in your "about me" section you said 'I love the blog world, farmhouse design, all things white, frugal home decor, but my favorite is flea market finds, mixing old with the new.' -- we would def be best friends! Just sayin! :)
