We are finally warming up here a bit and the snow has slowed down...just in time for the tricker treaters. Have a great weekend! Hopefully you'll get some time to dive into some reading...

Up and Coming
Remember when we talked about my redesign that I needed to do for our living room? Well, it's on its way...with some changes along the way...but mainly still the same foundation. Here's a sneak peak of what's to come...along with a great DIY coming up.

Over at DIY Today
Roeshel over at The DIY Showoff was sweet enough to ask if she could feature T's bedroom on her blog today. So go on over, check it out and say hi to Roeshel, she's such a sweetheart!

A Shower of Tissue
This is what I felt like last night...in a shower of tissue. A good friend of mine is having her baby shower tomorrow and I was asked to make the tissue flowers like I made for T's birthday party. You know, the ones we all see everywhere now, the notorious Martha Stewart ones. Only I can't see spending the money on the kits when tissue is so cheap and they are SO easy to make. So after using some random tissue...this is what I was looking at before I laid my head on the pillow...
Have a great weekend!

Teagan's Bedroom Reveal
So after so much promising, I'm FINALLY showing you my daughter's new "big girl" room...the transition from a nursery to a toddler room...that she can easily grow into.
Let's look at some of the before...which came from a pink and brown nursery, but it was all disassembled in these pics and ready for some fresh paint.

Her's some of the during, and a few of my helpers...
And the updated room...
A chalkboard and table, that transitions for her tea parties...including a hand painted tea set that was my great grandmother's, that my mother played with as well...
Some of the details ~ some vinage, some new, some handmade and a little detail added to the bed, a grainsack inset on the headboard...

Church's Park Fire
Let's just say, that flame and beetle kill is not a good combination. This weekend a fire had been started by man (the cause unknown) in the Church's Park area in our county. It spread about 350 acres before they were able to get 30% containment. We have been so blessed that the weather cooperated, very low winds and some moisture in the clouds and a higher humidity, most which is uncommon here in the mountains. Fortunately, no homes or people have been injured and no homes had to be evacuated. What a blessing! They are still containing the fire with a substance surround and dropping water by heli's, but hopefully the worst is behind us.
Praise the Lord for His protection and blessings during this time!

Classic Comfort
I love how this home from Atlanta Homes & Lifestyle puts a little modern twist on the classical home. It isn't overstated, but very calming and family friendly at the same time. The couple and their teenage sons should be very happy in this home...I know I would. Here are some of my favorites from their home.
Happy Weekend!
