Winter Time Blues

With my daughter Teagan coming up with Croup this weekend, mommy was blessed with laryngitis and on Sunday, I thought I was dying...literally. I think I opened my eyes and was awake for about 4 hours out of a 24 hours period. Getting all better now, but had I had a bedroom like the one above, I might of stayed in bed a few more days. Hope you all are feeling well with all of the winter "yuckies" flying around!

And She Wore Roses

I am so inspired by Emersonmade.     A good friend of mine is getting married soon, so I'm living out my dreams through her ;)  My wedding was quite some time ago...so this girl is dreaming of wearing the pretty flowers. Hmmm...maybe we can renew our vows someday, someplace warm, and I can go as overboard as I want with those flowers...But a girl can dream...

Marble Tile In the Works

We start this weekend on the remodel of our kitchen, which may be a slow process depending on our budget.  I scored this natural marble tile this summer at a garage sale and we are doing our kitchen countertop and backsplash (cut into subway tiles) in this. So here is the first item ready to be installed...thank goodness my boss who used to own a masonry business is helping us to layout and intall.

Paint Therapy

Since painting is like therapy for me, I decided to catch up on a few small painting projects. While I was at it, I really needed some inexpensive wall art other than photos, so with the help from Full House, I made these sunburst mirrors. I love how they turned out and they were so easy! I've already gotten compliments when you walk in the front door and these are there as you enter right above the newly painted coat rack I had laying around.

I also have been wanting to update a few things for the fireplace, so with a few coats of paint and some wooden letters from Hobby Lobby, I have this little collection that only set me back $5.00.
